This presentation will cover the essential topics that aspiring small business owners need to know. Most everyday entrepreneurs get only one chance to get it right, so our presentation is designed to help you avoid mistakes and put you on the path to success. We'll cover: How to choose a business, How to describe your business to customers, partners, and investors, How to make money, How to organize your business, How to sell, and How to launch your new venture. Everyone who attends will get access to Starbird and Aune's e-book that covers these topics in greater depth and provides detailed checklists for getting it right the first time. Presenter Biogaphies: Drew Starbird is Executive Director of the My Own Business Institute in the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. Over the course of his thirty-year career as a business school professor he has served as Dean of the Leavey School of Business, consulted with dozens of businesses, and written over forty articles on business-related topics. He has an MBA from Santa Clara University and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. Dave Aune is a business practitioner with over twenty-five years of management experience as a marketing and customer service leader at both large and startup companies. He has a track record of improving profitability by expanding service offerings, implementing scalable business processes, and leveraging strong partnerships. Through his work with Santa Clara University, he has become a mentor and advisor to dozens of startups and small businesses.
