Second Harvest Food Bank Meeting Time and Location: DC @ 8:50 am Event Description: Volunteers 14 years of age and older are needed to sort food at our warehouses. Volunteers inspect and categorize donated food products (such as dry goods and produce) and bag, box, or repack to ready for distribution. Training is provided at the beginning of each shift. Dress code: Comfortable, safe footwear is absolutely required: sneakers, work shoes, or boots. Volunteers wearing high heels, open-toed shoes, or sandals will not be allowed to volunteer. Long pants only and no tank tops. Dress warmly in the winter - layers are suggested, as are jeans, sweatshirts, etc. Dress lightly in the summer – but please, no bare arms or shorts. Extra chairing tasks: We also ask that you sign a Volunteer Agreement form.
