Date: Feb 26, 2018 at 2:00pm to 5:00pm
St. Joseph's Cathedral Basilica Chairing: Brothers must select “I volunteer to coordinate.” to chair. Pledges must comment “I would like to co-chair.” to co-chair. First come first serve. Meeting Time & Location: MLK Library @ 30 min before your shift Maximum Number of Brothers: 3 Event Description: St. Joseph's Cathedral Basilica's "window" provides a secure and free place for the homeless or anybody to receive mail. This is a unique space as it is the only mail room in the country that provides a free service to the homeless. Volunteers will come in contact with a diverse group of people providing mail services, offering food, and chatting with them. Mail services include searching and sorting for mail. Work is easy and straight forward. No experience needed, just a good sense of humor and attitude. The social ministry office is a short walk from campus across the tech museum and Cesar Chavez Park. Staffed with fun SJSU alumni and current students. To find the "window," face the Cathedral. You will see a building to the left with an open window and a line of people. Wave to the staff member inside and we will be more than happy to let you in. Dress Code: Letters/Pin Extra Details: Please email Anne Marie Angeles at jvc@dsj.org stating which time frame you will be volunteering during. ***BRING SJSU ID*** Extra Chairing Tasks: Please include this evaluation form in your Thank-You email: http://bit.ly/apogb_evaluation_form Service Coordinator Contact: jvc@dsj.org Submitted By: Hanalyn Menor
