Foot traffic wears down the tread, bushes and wildflowers grow over the trail and rain/fire/wind have their own effects. Therefore, help is needed to maintain a safe trail. Come work on the Trail Crew! After your inspiring volunteer experience, you will end up feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to hike even more! No experience necessary. Come meet others that enjoy hiking and the great outdoors! Trail Crew Days are a great way to learn about the park, try something new, and meet new friends. Dress Code: Letters/Pin; A hat and sunscreen are recommended. Long pants, a long-sleeve shirt, sturdy shoes and a hat are recommended. Then follow the "Volunteer Event" signs to the parking lot. The park is very large and has very limited cell phone reception. All tools and supplies are provided. Bring your own filled water bottle, or 2! Training and tools are provided, but you are welcome to bring your favorite tool. Please bring a filled water bottle and your own snack. We welcome hard-working high school students. Younger students must attend with a chaperone.
