(X) GB: Storytelling Through Film Montages |
| Date: Oct 31, 2017 at 3:00pm to 4:00pm | |
People tend to be curious about the film editing process. How do you know when to cut? Where should you move a certain scene? How does that scene work and relate to the finished piece?
Film editing is more than cutting clips and placing them on a timeline. While these basics are important, it’s important to think about a story, and to explore the methods that help build a strong narrative and an overall purpose.
This workshop will specifically analyze the Montage genre of film editing and how it applies to event videography.
(UPDATE 10/30) We will be watching footage from the following works and analyzing them:
Rocky (1976)
BSR: Fall 2017
(possibly) BSR: Fall 2016
The Theory of Everything (2014)
