The Great Food, Better Lives Gala is the premier fundraising event for FareStart, a culinary education and job placement non-profit for people experiencing poverty, homelessness and other barriers to employment. Volunteers are fundamental components to the success of this event, ensuring our many programs, aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty, are funded. Opportunities: *Highest Need Pre-Event Prep, Sept. 26, 11:00AM-3:00PM 10 positions available to assist with assembling auction boards, mystery boxes and more. Event Setup, Oct. 4, 1:00PM-1:30PM 5 positions available to assist with table and linen setup and organizing items for the event the next day. Registration 3:30PM-7:00PM - 7 positions available to assist with guest registration. Volunteers will check guests in, confirm payment options, distribute name tags and answer questions. Silent Auction Attendant 3:30PM-7:30PM - 5 positions available to assist with the silent auction. Volunteers will help with mobile bidding, answer questions about auction items and more. Golden Raffle Ticket Sales 3:30PM-7:45PM - 8 positions available to assist with selling golden tickets for the raffle. Volunteers will encourage guests to buy tickets and help complete purchases on mobile devices. *Live Auction Volunteer 5:30PM-10:15PM - 15 positions available to assist with the live auction. Volunteers will be auction runners for winning bids and work as spotters, assisting the auctioneer with identifying bids. *Section Captain 5:15PM-10:15PM - 25 positions available to assist dinner guests with anything they need. Volunteers will host tables, providing information about FareStart, helping to identify bidders and ensuring guests have a fantastic evening. *Item Pick-up/Check-out 5:30PM-10:45PM - 10 positions available to assist with guest check out. Volunteers will confirm purchases, print receipts and distribute won items. Event Take Down- 8:30PM-11:00PM - 10 positions available to assist with event take down and clean up.
