MLK Day of Service - Restore the forest trail to Lightrail |
| Date: Jan 16, 2017 at 8:00am to 12:00pm | |
** We will be lightrailing at 8:00 AM Please meet at the Lightrail station then!**
Come out and restore a bit of nature in the city! This trail provides a forested walkway between South Beacon Hill and Rainier Beach, providing a connection to light rail and offering the community a natural area to walk, explore, play, and learn. Honor and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., by ensuring that all people have access to nature and healthy environments.
We'll be working outdoors (rain or shine!), planting plants, mulching with wood chips, pulling ivy and grubbing blackberry. We'll also be having a lot of fun! Find out more at www.facebook.com/eastduwamish
A few more details... Street parking is available, although the site is also accessible by light rail, bus, and bike. We'll provide tools and gloves, just bring yourselves, your passion for environmental justice, snacks, and water bottles. Wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty. | |
