Meet the Employer: Northwest Center

Date: Nov 2, 2015 at 5:30pm to 7:30pm
We are a leader in advancing equal opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Our award-winning services for children provide early intervention, inclusive early childhood education, teen programs and after school programs. Services for adults include supported employment, job training and placement. Our unique social enterprise model allows our programs to thrive through a sustainable combination of philanthropy, profits from our own inclusive businesses, donations collected by The Big Blue Truckā„¢, and program revenue. Northwest Center touches the lives of nearly 1,000 families annually. Since 1965, our mission has been to promote the growth, development and independence of people with developmental disabilities through programs of education, rehabilitation and work opportunity. Today, Northwest Center has grown into one of the largest human services organizations in Washington State. We have a variety of employment opportunities within our company. At this session, we will highlight our direct services positions, such as Job Coach and Assistant Teacher, and our Receptionist position working out of South Lake Union. Northwest Center Kids seeks candidates who are majoring in Early Childhood Education. For the Job Coach position, we like to see candidates who are majoring in human services fields such as Sociology or Psychology. We accept any major for the receptionist position; however, we like to see people who have a customer service and/or administrative background. We are open to any class level; however, we prefer recent graduates or applicants who will graduate soon.
