Gift of Life Drive |
| Date: Feb 3, 2025 at 11:45am to 5:00pm | |
If you have an opening shift, please meet in the RSO Center; otherwise, you can find us at Red Square.
If you have a closing shift, you are expected to stay until all RSO items have been returned to their office.
If you are a trained shift lead and want my shift PLEASE TEXT ME— (713) 380-6434. I would like a thirty minute break or so to go get food and would be willing to trade out any shift! (tbh tho I will still take a thirty minute break with food I brought anyway I’ll just be sitting in the back)
You are NOT allowed to participate in the drive if you have not been trained by me or Alexandra. Please contact me so we can find a time to meet and introduce you to the presentation, as this drive will occur again in the future.
If you attend a training AND attend a drive I will give you an extra 0.5 for the training.
If you get swabbed at this event or have been swabbed in the past, let me know and you will get 0.5 credits. If you have already received the swabbing credits then you will not get more credits.
You do NOT have to swab to be at this event.
The Gift of Life is dedicated to the mission of saving lives through organ and tissue donation, as well as providing hope to patients in need of transplants. By promoting awareness and education around the importance of donation, the organization works to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of others.
Hosting swab drives is crucial in this mission, as they help recruit potential stem cell and bone marrow donors. Many patients with life-threatening illnesses, such as leukemia, depend on finding a compatible match for life-saving transplants. By organizing these drives, communities can expand the donor registry, increasing the likelihood of finding matches and giving patients a much-needed second chance at life. Each swab taken represents a step closer to hope and healing for those in need. | |
