The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1995. Their goal is to address a range of socio-economic issues in Pakistan by providing accessible education. Today, TCF has built and runs 1,833 schools, educates 286,000 students, provides jobs to 13,000 teachers and principals and 17,400 other employees, and has taught reading and writing to 174,000 women. Every TCF school has electricity, clean drinking water, school materials, a 50% student gender ratio, and all female teachers. With effective financial models, TCF spends less than $12 to provide a month of education per child. The TCF UW Chapter is currently the only one existing at the college-level. Our goal is to raise awareness about the problems rampant in Pakistan, and the tangible & proven solution that TCF provides. For our Donut Fundraiser, we will be tabling in Red Square to sell Krispy Kreme donuts with a goal of raising $650. Volunteers can grab a free donut :)
