Record a Video: Junior Achievement Virtual Career Speaker Series

Date: Oct 11, 2021 at 12:00am to 11:59pm
The JA Virtual Career Speakers Series is an opportunity for you to tell your story while inspiring our next generation of leaders & provide hope for eastern NC students. Volunteers share school, work experiences, and stories that offer insight and guidance in career development. JA will provide talking points as a guide for your discussion. Select a few of your favorite questions - feel free to add a topic that is important to you! Whether it’s the importance of mentorship, work/life balance, women in STEM, investing.... add your own spin to the questions. Students want to hear your story & learn about your world of work! JA of Eastern NC is collecting videos from volunteers on a rolling basis to add to our video resource library. Middle and high school students will be able to access the library directly, or teachers can share with their classes. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact Dena Birks at dena@jaoenc.org or (919)796-4763. Message from the organizer: "Volunteers will record themselves speaking about their career, anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. I am attaching a list of Talking Points that you can share to get your started. These are suggestions only and volunteers can choose which points to cover and/or include any other points you would like to make. We would be grateful it if you mention JAENC. You could say something like “Thanks to Junior Achievement of Eastern North Carolina for inviting me to talk about my career”. When you have made your video, please send it me dena@jaoenc.org using WeTransfer. If you are not familiar with WeTransfer, it's free and easy. Due to the size of the videos, most of them can't be sent through email. The website is wetransfer.com. Volunteers will add their video file, enter their email, mine as recipient and then transfer your file. You can also add a message if you need to. You'll be alerted once the transfer is complete and again when I've received and opened your video. You can also send the video through Google docs or send the link address to my email. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions or concerns." **If you are interested, please contact me for the list of questions and talking points as I am not able to attach the document here.**
