THIS IS AN IN-PERSON SERVICE OPPORTUNITY WITH NO GUEST INTERACTIONS IN DC. YOU MUST FOLLOW ALL SAFETY GUIDELINES INCLUDING WEARING A MASK, PRACTICING DISTANCING, ETC. This behind-the-scenes volunteer opportunity will take place from 1:30 pm-4:00 pm every day. SOME's dining room staff are in need of 15 volunteers to assist them with preparing cold food containers to be handed out to lunch guests the following day. The 15 volunteers will be divided into two groups, neither greater than 10, with adequate spacing to ensure social distancing. All volunteers will assist staff with one final deep clean of the facility with EPA approved products before the end of the shift. This will include the cleaning of tables, chairs, countertops, doors, and doorknobs. These volunteers will work solely with kitchen staff to prepare these meals and will not be working around or interacting with our guests. The lunch service ends at 1 pm each day. By 1:30 pm, guests will no longer be allowed in the dining hall and waiting areas. Each day has a different number of available slots, so just be aware of that when signing up.
