IMPORTANT! To volunteer for this event, click this link: http://www.lightthenight.org/nca/localchapter/volunteer and fill out the form. Under volunteer group, write "Alpha Phi Omega, Eta Phi". Then send it back the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through mail, fax, or email. I would like to do this for all of you myself, but it requires a signature from each volunteer. Also this is a first come, first volunteer event, so sign up and send in the form early. In other words: YOU WILL NOT VOLUNTEER FOR THIS EVENT UNLESS YOU FILL OUT THE LINKED FORM!!!!!
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is hosting Light the Night events on October 9th and 16th. As you would expect, they need volunteers for this very big event.
The walk is held on fall evenings in communities across the U.S. and Canada to raise funds, pay tribute to and bring hope to people battling blood cancers. Thousands of participants carry illuminated balloons in a show of support. There are three different colors of balloons - red for supports, white for survivors and gold in memory of a loved one.
You will table for registrations, help direct guests, and collect donations. You will also get a t-shirt, food, and a good feeling that you've done something helpful for the community.
Rockville Town Center is across the street from the Rockville Metro stop.
Depart LA Quad by 3 pm. | |
