Join Friends of Theodore Roosevelt Island and Arlington Regional Master Naturalists as we team up to remove invasive plant species from the island. These invasive plants threaten native trees, so it is important to periodically remove them to maintain the island's ecosystem. All necessary training and tools (folding saws, loppers, hand clippers) will be provided. Volunteers may bring their own tools as well. Please wear sturdy shoes, pants, and long sleeves as we will be working off trail. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mlk-day-invasive-species-removal-on-theodore-roosevelt-island-tickets-86733944563 An hour of travel time is included each way.
