Food For All DC

Date: Jan 25, 2020 at 8:00am to 1:00pm
Food for All DC strives to provide food to low income home-bound residents in real need. Our clients are generally elderly citizens, handicapped, or single mothers with young children. Duties When you turn up just check-in and we’ll put you to work! No training or orientation required! Bring a car if possible to deliver also (Street parking only). Don’t worry, we’ll explain everything and provide routes/maps etc. We are a fun low-key and enjoyable way to kick-start your weekend and give back. Our program runs almost every Saturday of the year from 9am (SHARP) where we bag groceries to deliver to our clients. The packing only takes around 45mins-1hr and then volunteers (who bring their cars and are able to drive) are assigned routes. Other volunteers can sign up as navigators and help drivers on deliveries. Routes normally contain between 6-8 deliveries and take about 1-2 hours. Volunteers need to register with us in advance using the volunteer link (https://web.godeed.today/deeds/5dfa703d5453363367501728). New volunteers must sign the waiver linked here: https://form.jotform.com/80497366784170 Be sure to sign up on the link BEFORE signing up on the website. An hour of travel time is included each way. However, it should take about 35-40 minutes to get there. Please enter via the REAR entrance of the Universalist National Memorial church (via the alley of S Street).
