The Green Amendment: Securing Our Right to a Healthy Environment In 2013, Maya van Rossum and her team won a watershed legal victory in Pennsylvania that not only protected communities from ruthless frackers, but breathed legal life into the constitutional right of people in the state to a clean and healthy environment. Following this victory, van Rossum inaugurated the Green Amendment movement, dedicated to empowering every American community to mobilize for constitutional change. van Rossum’s talk will seek to discuss and inspire a new tool for environmental preservation, one that will provide a new way of thinking about, and pursuing, environmental protection from a policy as well as a legal perspective. “ Maya van Rossum is the Delaware Riverkeeper and has led the Delaware Riverkeeper Network (DRN) for 23 years.
