The South Lawn is only open to the public twice a year! Now is your chance to help make this event even more special!! Each Spring, the White House opens the South Lawn to the public for self-guided Spring Garden Tours. White House Spring Garden Tours are a great volunteer opportunity for individuals, families, teens, adults, and groups! This year's tours will be held on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14. President's Park is seeking volunteers to help with the event--assisting with crowd management, providing directions, and answering visitor questions. Three volunteer shifts are available: a morning shift (8:30 am to 12:30 pm), an afternoon shift (12:00 pm to 5:00 pm), and an all day shift (8:30 am to 5:00 pm). All positions require a large amount of standing and walking. Volunteers should be comfortable working outdoors, including in rain, heat, or cold. Volunteering for Spring Garden Tours is always a fun experience--visitors are happy, excited, and surprised to be able to enter the South Lawn, and the event itself is great for all ages. PLEASE NOTE, volunteers with the National Park Service President's Park do not work on the South Lawn.
