We will spend the morning removing invasive plants, collecting litter and working on other park-beautification projects. WHEN: Saturday, April 13, 9:00am to 12:00pm. Registration opens at 8:30am, please arrive no later than 8:45am. We will meet at the maintenance yard near the park entrance. WHERE: Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, 1550 Anacostia Ave Northeast, Washington, DC 20019. By Car: Enter the park at the Anacostia Ave entrance to access the free visitors parking lot. By Metro: Kenilworth is accessible via the Deanwood Metro stop (orange line). WHAT: Volunteers will spend the morning removing invasive plants from ponds, picking up trash and working on other park projects. The event will run rain or shine—please dress accordingly and plan to work outside. BRING WITH YOU: Be prepared to work outside! If you plan to work in the ponds, we recommend you bring a change of clothes. Please wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothes. Please also bring your own water bottle and sunscreen. 1 hour of travel time will be included each way
