Date: Oct 24, 2018 at 4:00pm to 9:00pm
Work alongside graduates of DC Central Kitchen’s Culinary Job Training program to help us prepare nutritious meals by cutting, chopping and/or peeling thousands of pounds of otherwise wasted food. With the help of volunteers like you, we prepare and deliver more than 5,000 meals to partner homeless shelters, rehabilitation clinics, halfway houses, and afterschool programs each day. No cooking or food service experience is required. Dress Code: Safety is our number one concern. All volunteers must wear appropriate and professional attire suitable for an industrial production kitchen. Please wear closed toed shoes, sleeves and long pants. Shoes with high-grip soles are strongly recommended. Please sign up using this link: https://dccentralkitchen.org/register/ AN HOUR OF TRAVEL TIME IS INCLUDED EACH WAY YOU MUST BE THERE BY 4:45 TO ATTEND ORIENTATION.
