Koi Fish Sale at the National Arboretum! |
| Date: Oct 13, 2012 at 10:45am to 3:15pm | |
The USNA is having a koi fish sale (no joke - literally they are selling the fish).
"We are having a koi fish sale here on Saturday, October 13th. We are looking for volunteers to help with the sale. We will train volunteers to help with tasks such as fish catching, receipt writers, etc.
We are recruiting volunteer to help with the following positions:
Receipt Writers –
This volunteer will write the name of the visitor on the bag and then will record the number of fish caught. Fish prices will vary by sizes ranging from $1-$150.00. Receipt writers will count the number of fish per price range and will record them accurately on the receipt. Completed receipts will be given to the visitors to take to the cashier for payment.
Bagger Assistant –
Volunteers serving as bagger assistants will help fish catchers catch the fish by helping herd the fish into the nets.
Bag Runners –
Volunteers serving as bag runners will take the bags with the fish in them to the air tank where a staff member will add air, more water, and will secure the bag.
Line Volunteer –
This volunteer will help patrol the line of visitors waiting to enter the sale. Only a small group of visitors will be allowed at the tanks to shop for fish. The line volunteer will help control the number of people at the tanks by controlling when visitors approach the tank to pick their fish. "
TRANSPORTATION: Travel time is included in this event, but it would be SO much easier if someone was auto certified. As of now transportation takes approximately an hour and a half, and you would switch buses 3 times. As soon as an AUTO certified person signs up I can change the times to shave off an hour of commuting. | |
