Navy 5 Miler Expo with LLS/TNT |
| Date: Sep 15, 2012 at 9:00am to 4:00pm | |
*NOTE* We need to confirm names by September 4th, and we need at least 3 people, ideally one with a car. Ask me if you have any questions!
Since 1988, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training® (TNT) has grown to be the single largest and most successful endurance sports training program for charity. More than 540,000 participants, from first timers to seasoned athletes, have trained with TNT and achieved their best at marathons, half marathons, triathlons and cycling events. Together, they've raised over $1.2 billion to benefit LLS.
With professional coaches, participants are not only physically motivated but personally challenged as well. Raising the bar on their "personal best", participants add fundraising for cancer to the challenge of training for an endurance event. LLS has awarded millions of dollars to advance blood cancer research and direct services to patients and their families.
Volunteers will be teaching those interested who come up to our booth about the program. People at the expo will be running the Navy 5 Miler of ½ Marathon the next day and picking their race packets up. We will provide brochures and fun material to give away. | |
