Latino Student Fund - Coolidge SHS College Application Support

Date: Mar 20, 2018 at 2:30pm to 7:00pm
The mission of the LSF is to provide opportunities for a strong academic foundation for underserved PreK-12th grade students of Hispanic descent and their families to promote higher education and professional leadership. The organization provides year-round, out-of-school-time programs for low-income, at-risk students and their families with the goal of increasing levels of educational attainment in the community. This shift requires volunteers to assist high school seniors in the college application and scholarship/financial aid processes. The students and mentors meet once per week to work on applications, personal statements, and other supporting materials. After the application process, students continue to work with their mentor to research and apply to scholarships, along with receiving support in deciding where to enroll. To volunteer you must first create an account with LSF and then register on their website BEFORE signing up on the APO site.
