Zoo Uncorked is the Zoo's wine-tasting event, featuring vintners, food trucks and entertainment. Ticket sales from the event benefit conservation, research and education programs at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. Volunteer check-in opens at 4:30 p.m., and all volunteers are asked to be checked in by 5 p.m. Volunteers must be able to stay until 9:20 p.m. to assist with clean up. Volunteers will be assigned a role at check-in that may include (but is not limited to) helping with registration, greeting guests at the VIP area, manning the prize wheel station and helping to serve guests at the event’s soda and water stations. Please note: Staff and volunteers may not visit the booths to sample wine or food. However, dinner will be provided to volunteers at check-in.
