This year, APO is co-sponsoring Women's Initiative's annual Take Back the Night event on campus, and we need you to help make this an awesome event! Take Back the Night is an internationally held march against rape and sexual violence. The event begins at the amphitheater with a performance by Batala, an all-women's drumming group. Batala will then lead the audience around campus in a march that engages the campus community in a protest against sexual violence. The march will end at the steps of Kay where Treble in Paradise, AU's all-women's a capella group, will sing a couple songs to quiet down the group. Then testimonials will begin in Kay, where survivors of sexual violence are able to volunteer to speak about their experience.
Note: If you live off campus, there will be AUTO vans to take you home at night, so the safety of walking home after the shuttle stops won't be a problem.
Your mission is simply to attend the event, gain an excellent experience, and help support a great cause!! | |
