We have officially adopted a Joyful Food Market at Drew Elementary School in Ward 7! This will be second to last engagement with Martha's Table this semester. Closest Metro Station: 14-minute walk from the Capital Heights Metro (Blue/Silver Line) As an Adopt a Market partner, we will assist with the distribution of healthy groceries and will co-lead healthy eating activities with children and families. We will have the opportunity to form lasting bonds with neighbors across the District while tackling food insecurity in a DC Public School. Each distributed grocery bag, full of fresh produce and healthy pantry staples, is taken home to fridges and cupboards, and amounts to roughly 23 pounds (or 18 meals per child). NOTE: Transportation time is not included.
