Food and Friends prepares more than 3,000 meals each day, so it takes a lot of volunteers to make sure all the food is prepped, portioned and packaged correctly. Food & Friends' kitchen is a fun, hands-on atmosphere where you can learn as much about how to chop an onion as you can about the volunteer who is chopping next to you. No culinary experience is needed, just a willingness to pitch-in and get the job done. Directions: Take the red line to Fort Totten. Upon arrival CALL THIS NUMBER TO CALL A SHUTTLE: (202) 669-6437!! You can't walk there because there is a bunch of construction going on, so make sure you call for the shuttle as soon as you get there! They will also take you back to the metro! Yay!
