SPA Leadership Pooja Aier is working with a local elementary school to increase the prevalence of arts education for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. "One aspect of my project is to create a mosaic mural, for which each student will paint their own tile. I could use some volunteers to work with the kids while they're painting and just give them positive energy and answer simple questions they may have. I'll be going in on Fridays starting on February 5th. I expect to finish the tiles in 3-4 weeks. We'll work with 3 art classes from 8:40 to 11:05 am. The art teacher will be there to help with the lesson and workshops as well. Volunteers must be available on Friday from 8am - 12 pm." An hour for transportation has been provided. Taking one of the H buses from Tenleytown is the most direct route, as taking the metro to Columbia Heights is pretty indirect.
