DYSD: Rock Creek Conservancy Clean Up

Date: Nov 7, 2015 at 9:15am to 12:45pm
Rock Creek Conservancy and National Park Service is looking for volunteers to save park trees from the chokehold of English ivy, an invasive vine that grows up tree trunks and eventually weakens and kills the tree. Volunteers will remove English ivy from trees in Rock Creek Park. Tools, gloves, and training on how to identify and cut English ivy will be provided. Volunteers will meet near the entrance to the park at the end of W. St NW in Glover Park. The closest intersection is W. St NW and Foxboro Pl NW. Street parking is available. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Wear sturdy boots or sneakers, no sandals. We recommend long pants and sleeves to prevent contact with poison ivy (letters also if possible). In order to participate, YOU MUST SIGN UP HERE: http://publicevents.force.com/Public_Event_Signup_Page?cid=70170000001DAGB In order to get there, just get on the red line, get off at the Glover Park stop (about 13 minutes away from here) and it's a short walk from there. Remember to take lots of pictures and wear your letters if possible!
