This event is in coordination with our nation-wide annual event Read for the Record (https://www.jstart.org/campaigns/read-for-the-record). Volunteers will travel together with Jumpstart student employees and myself to Cedar Tree Academy to host a reading and activities session with preschoolers in their aftercare program. Attached is an example of one of the activities. We will meet in the Corner Lounge (behind the Info Desk) in MGC at 2:45pm to fill out some paperwork, before leaving at 3pm for the preschool. We will be taking the shuttle to Tenleytown and then metro-ing to the site. On the metro we will go over the activities and classroom management tactics. We will be working with the classrooms 4:15pm-5:15pm and then returning to AU (we have a quick survey for you to fill out on the way back). THERE IS A QUESTIONNAIRE TO FILL OUT.
