Boo At The Zoo |
| Date: Oct 21, 2011 at 3:30pm to 10:00pm | |
The thirteenth annual Boo at the Zoo, a fundraiser to support public education programs at the National Zoo, is scheduled for the end of next month. The shift is from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. To properly staff the event we ask that volunteers check in by 4:30 p.m.
Planned guest activities include trick or treating in most of the animal buildings along Olmstead walk, a variety of animal related activities, haunted trails and more! Volunteers are needed to help with registration, staff treat stations, and act as Crossing Ghouls. Please feel free to invite your family and friends to volunteer for the event, too. The minimum age to volunteer is 15. Teens who volunteered for one of our FONZ teen programs during the summer of 2011 may volunteer for Boo at age 13 or older. We are very sorry, but exceptions cannot be made. Please note this is a ticketed fundraiser. Anyone not volunteering must buy a ticket.
Part of the fun of this event is the costumes, so we strongly encourage volunteers to wear your own costume. If you choose not to, please wear khaki bottoms and a solid colored shirt. Complete information will be provided in the confirmation information should you choose to volunteer. Boo at the Zoo shirts will not be sold this year.
Dinner will be served upon arrival, so going hungry is welcome! Meet in at the LA Quad at 3:30 to Metro to Woodley Park, from which point the walk is not long. | |
