sup if you live in Anderson(/Centennial??) I'm holding a Write Night as a community service event to get my residents interested in community service in the DC area!!! For those of you who haven't previously done WRITE NIGHT it is an event through Free Minds Book Club, an organization that works with incarcerated youth and encourages them to write poetry to express themselves. Creative writing can be transformative and it can really help people in unfortunate situations to deal with the realities of prison life, and it can help with reentry down the line. What we're going to be doing is providing feedback on these poems to show that we're listening to them, and that's going to be sent back for them to read. It's a really cool project that we can learn a lot from and it is literally being brought into your building so please consider coming if you can!!! Please god come support me in my RA capacity because idk if any of my residents will come and I made a commitment to Free Minds Book Club to give feedback on these poems.
