Wangari Gardens is a community garden serving a low-income community with little access to fresh groceries. It makes a huge difference! We've been helping out with their compost system, as well as a wheelchair path to make the garden more handicapped-accessible and various other projects that need doing. Once, we harvested bamboo for building materials. It's a lot of fun, and really rewarding! Just be prepared to get your clothes dirty. We'll meet outside the Tenleytown Metro at 10:10 AM and be back in time for chapter (we leave the garden at 3).
