Habitat for Humanity

Date: Mar 21, 2015 at 7:00am to 5:00pm
Project time: 8:15am - 3:30pm Registration and Liability Waivers: Please send the following directions to your team to register for this build: 1. Visit www.dchabitat.volunteerhub.com and create an account using the join code “AU Campus Chapter”. Anyone who already has an account can add the join code by editing their profile under “Your Account” 2. Find your build on the events page and click “Sign Up” 3. Volunteers aged 16 and 17 (16 is our minimum age to volunteer) must print the Juvenile Liability Form and bring a copy to site that has been signed by a parent or guardian. Underage volunteers missing this form will not be permitted to volunteer. Preparing for your build day: · WHAT TO WEAR: Clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and warm clothes in the winter. Layers and raingear are a good idea. We work in all kinds of weather so the site is only closed if DC Public Schools close for snow. No sandals are allowed, only closed-toed shoes or boots. · WHAT TO BRING: A water bottle (we have water on site) and a lunch (or be prepared for a short drive to fast food). · WHEN TO ARRIVE: At 8:15 am—we work from 8:30-3:30 with a lunch break from 12:00-12:45. Please plan to come on time and stay the entire day. All volunteers must arrive by 9:00 a.m. at the latest. Those who arrive after 9:00 a.m. will be asked to reschedule their build day. · WHO TO CALL: Your on-site contact will be Shannon Garvin, our Volunteer Coordinator. You can reach her at 202-257-1153 if you need anything the morning of your build. · WHAT TO KNOW: Attached, please find directions to the site, FAQs, and liability waivers. Please know that the tasks your group is asked to help with may change from the time of this email up to the morning of your build. We appreciate your understanding that all tasks related to the build site are essential to our mission.
