Out of the Darkness Walk (Walkers)

Date: Oct 29, 2011 at 4:00pm to 8:00pm
DC's Out of the Darkess Community Walk is one of many taking place over the country, created by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. If you or anyone you know has ever been affected by suicide, this is a great cause to help stop it in the future. This year's Walk will start and end at the Sylvan Theater, which is on the grounds of the Washington Monument; the theater is a 5-minute walk from the Smithsonian Metro stop on the Blue and Orange lines. Walkers will have the opportunity to stroll by the Thomas Jefferson and Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorials along with the recently-opened Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial at sunset. Please note: Registration is free, so please try to fundraise for the walk! You can join the Alpha Phi Omega team when you register here: http://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.eventDetails&eventID=1418 by clicking "Register Now" toward the top. Or just go to the team page here http://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&eventID=1418&teamID=26824 and click "Join This Team". You will not get credit for the event unless you register. Also: Registration closes at noon on October 28. Sign-ups here will do the same. I realize this is the same day as the AIDS walk. But they are at completely different times. You can do both!
