Help clean up the park! Meet at the LA Quad at 7:30 am to take the metro. If people would rather drive, there is usually plenty of nearby parking. Coming by Metro: For the Aquatic Gardens, exit the Deanwood Stop on the Orange Line, lower Polk Street Exit. Take the pedestrian overpass across Kenilworth Avenue and go left on Douglas Street. Go right on Anacostia Avenue and enter any open gate on your left. For Kenilworth Park exit the Minnesota Avenue Stop, go left on Minnesota Avenue to Nannie Helen Burroughs and go left to the athletic fields. Volunteers sign up starting at 8:30 am and the work begins at 9:00 and runs until 1:00. Note: If we can get 30 or more volunteers from APO, they will try to rename a species of frog after us! We can do it! Also: Some of the projects will involve work in water, mud, and dirt. It is recommended that volunteers bring a change of shirt and socks (just in case).
