It’s that time of the year again! Maris Feeley and I are the Women’s Initiative co-coordinators for Stopping Violence Against Women, and Sexual Assault Awareness Month is coming up. Take Back the Night, our biggest event of the year, is an internationally held march against rape and sexual violence. The march will be around campus and will be followed by a vigil outside on the Quad where survivors of sexual violence are able to volunteer to speak about their experience. This year's Take Back the Night is on April 7, 2014, and will feature performances by Batala, an all-women's drumming group and Pitches Be Trippin'. You will only get a service hour for attending the march around campus but I highly encourage you to stay for the speak-outs! Also, please make sure I know you are there, since I am running this event I might not realize you were in attendance.
