This year our Spring Youth Service Day project will be at the Walker Jones Education Campus (1125 New Jersey Avenue NW). The school is easily accessible through the 96 bus from Tenleytown. Travel time from campus is about an hour. We will be celebrating Read Across America Day with the students on Monday, but first we need to prepare the school! The Sunday project will be focused on decorating the library for the Pre-K to 3rd grade students. We will be creating large Dr. Seuss characters, using copious amounts of streamers and creating banners and just general decorations! We need your imagination and artistic abilities to bring Dr. Seuss to life!! We will also be creating door decorations for the younger classrooms and preparing supplies for Monday’s activities. Travel time is included, and we will return in time for chapter. Shifts for Monday's projects will be up as soon as they are confirmed. Our coordinator on campus will be Eta Phi alum Kim Lindegren. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your SYSD chairs Sarah Connolly (sc5473a@student.american.edu) and Meg Carr (m.carr209@gmail.com). “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
