In 2015, National Fuel applied to build the Northern Access Pipeline to transport fracked natural gas through Western NY. The Sierra Club of the Niagara region and the DEC are actively fighting this process because of the concerns with the proposed dehydration facility located next to the Niagara River and the hundreds of streams and wetland areas the pipeline will cross.
