Volunteers for this event would be helping behind the snack counter. That involves greeting visitors to the space, selling snacks/soda/coffee/tea, and periodically looking around to make sure nobody has snuck alcohol into the space. The group who booked this show usually runs a pretty tight ship, so it should be a fairly laid back experience for any volunteers. You would be volunteering with one of our Sugar Citizens who has a lot of experience volunteering at shows. In case you don't know, we do have a work-exchange program for volunteers, so you can exchange volunteer hours for free use of the space for a show, gallery opening, or other event. Sugar City prides itself as being organized as a community based venue that is specifically designed to encourage individuals to become music promoters, event organizers and art curators. Unlike most venues, you don’t “get booked” at the Sugar City- you use your creative energy to book yourself! We exist to help, support and provide space to our nice city neighbors.
