When applying for a graduate school, the information an admissions committee looks for in a statement of purpose is very different from what employers look for in a cover letter or personal statement. Admissions committees are looking to see how you have prepared for the rigor of graduate study, what you plan to accomplish as a graduate student, and how your chosen program will help you do that. This workshop will highlight what graduate admissions committees are hoping to learn about you and help you decipher the kinds of information and experiences your statement should convey.
