Dr. Satu Limaye and Dr. Toshihiro Nakayama will speak about the importance of the United States to Japan’s interests, the evolving Japanese perspectives on the United States, and U.S.-Japan security and economic/trade relations. Pizza will be served! Dr. Limaye is Director of the East-West Center in Washington. He is also a Senior Advisor at the CNA Corporation, a non-profit research and analysis organization located in Arlington, VA. He is the creator and director of the Asia Matters for America initiative, an interactive resource for credible, non-partisan information, graphics, analysis and news on US-Asia Pacific relations and the national, state and local levels; Founding Editor of the Asia-Pacific Bulletin series, an editor of the journal Global Asia and on the international advisory council of the journal Contemporary Southeast Asia. Dr. Nakayama is the Japan Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C. He is also a Professor of American Politics and Foreign Policy at the Faculty of Policy Management at Keio University. He is also an Adjunct Fellow at the Japan Institute of International Affairs
