The house manager will be your point person. He will be training and managing you. There will be a sign-in sheet in the lobby when you arrive. If you want class credit for ushering, you MUST sign in with your name and class NUMBER. It is imperative that you know the class number. You receive a single comp ticket which can be redeemed the night of the show only (Unless the night is sold out). If you are working more than one show, you can either choose which night you want to go or go both nights. Your duties require you to be working until the start of the pre-show announcement. Since it’s a free ticket, please let the audience choose their seats first. Dress code for ushering: Please look presentable, and dress in business-style clothing. Nametags will be provided. We are in customer service, and we are introducing our audience to a new system which can be a bit stressful. Please be as polite as possible to the patrons and if there is something you can’t answer, double check with the house manager. Depending on how things go, some of you may be reassigned to help in the box office. Please be flexible. Your professors will receive an email the Tuesday after the show closes confirming your participation in the event. The show runs approx. 2 hours.
