January’s exciting events include:
— WUOL, NouLou Chamber Players perform Erwin Schulhoff’s Concertino for flute, viola, and bass. A Czechoslovakian Jewish composer targeted by the Nazis for producing “entartete musik†(degenerate music), Schulhoff’s life was tragically cut short in 1942, when he contracted tuberculosis in Wülzburg concentration camp.

— Jecorey Arthur will present his family program, Classical Corner, featuring hands-on orchestra conducting with the Compass Quartet, composition coloring with the Speed’s education department, a drum circle with DrumSmart, and an instrument petting zoo.
