How Hip Hop Taught A Kid From Kentucky What An Ally Should Be

*Multipurpose Room Dr. Mickey Hess (Rider University) and UofL’s own Dr. Kaila Story will be co-presenting a talk on campus titled “How Hip Hop Taught A Kid from Kentucky What An Ally Should Be.” Dr. Hess is an alumnus of UofL’s Department of English and is a Professor of English at Rider. His recent book, A Guest in the House of Hip Hop: How Rap Music Taught A Kid From Kentucky What An Ally Should Be, was released this past November. Hess has authored five books on American Hip Hop, including Hip Hop in America: A Regional Guide and Icons of Hip Hop. Event is free and open to the public. Food and refreshments will be provided before the event.
