College Ave Food Scrap Collection

The RU Compost Club is collecting your veggie/fruit scraps! Store your food scraps in a recycled brown paper bag (like Dunkin' bags) that can be kept in your freezer. Food scraps can also be kept in a bucket/jar topped with a lid on your kitchen counter. Bring/empty the entire bag/jar on collection days for us to put in our larger buckets and transport/incorporate into our compost piles. Where: In front of the Hillel House on College Ave (close to the Scott hall bus stop) Sunday from 10-11am Acceptable items: - Fruit peels/cores - Vegetable scraps - Old/moldy grains (bread, pasta, etc.) - Egg shells - Coffee grounds and filters - Tea leaves - Shredded newspaper/cardboard Non-Acceptable items: - Meat - Dairy - Fats/oils - Produce Stickers - Fruit pits - Staples/plastic tag from tea bags - Pistachio shells This will count as a DRIVE EVENT. 5 bags of scraps will equal 1 hour to the community. Make sure the bags are filled. Drop off areas are mentioned above, on the College Ave Campus near Scott Hall. Remember brothers/pledges you are capped at 6 hours worth of hours for drives.
