BIG THREE SHIFT 1: 8:15AM- 12:30PM (USE THIS TIMEFRAME!) Meet Driver at 7:50AM. Orientation at 8:15AM SHIFT 2: 11:00AM-3:30PM Meet Driver at 10:30AM. Orientation at 8:15AM Parking! We have secured an offsite parking lot again this year to help ensure that our staff and volunteers have parking available to them. The parking lot is near the old Turner baseball field/current Georgia State Football stadium. Here is the address: 738 Hank Aaron Dr SW. A Zoo Atlanta security guard will be stationed in this lot all day and we will have a shuttle running continuously from the lot to the Zoo. The lot hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Unfortunately, for our morning shift volunteers the shuttle lot may not be open early enough for you to park and get to the Zoo for check-in, but there should be plenty of parking available near the Zoo prior to 8:00 a.m. Afternoon shift volunteers, you should definitely head to the shuttle lot as all available parking near the Zoo will be gone by 10:00 a.m. Please see the attached pdf with a parking pass, map for directions to the lot and map for how to get to the Education building once at the Zoo. Liability Forms – Attached are two form options. Please select the one that is relevant to you (Adult or Adult w/ minor). Please fill out this form and bring it with you when you arrive to volunteer. Having the form completed in advance will help you get checked in faster. Check-In – All volunteers will enter through the Conservation Education gate located at the far end of the Cherokee Ave Parking lot. (If you are facing the Zoo the gate is to your right). There will be signs and a guard at this gate to let volunteers in. Once through the gate, follow the path to the “Action Resource Center” also know as the Education building. My team and I will be waiting inside to check you in! What to wear – You are welcome to dress up in costumes. We just ask that your costumes be merry not scary. Remember this is a family friendly Halloween event so we expect a lot of young kids. Please no masks, clown costumes or anything offensive. You can also wear t-shirts that represent your school, club, or organization. Wear comfortable shoes because there will be a lot of walking and standing. Important #s – if you are running late or are having a problem at the shuttle lot please call 404.624.5670, this is the number to Zoo Atlanta Security. If you are running late please call them and ask them to get in contact with April. If there is an issue at the lot you can reach out to them for assistance as well. I will not be near my desk during Boo at the Zoo so reaching me by phone will not be possible, but you can email me at aanderson@zooatlanta.org and I will see the emails.
