Winship Cancer 5K Cheer Table

BIG THREE Our Cheer Table theme: When Life Gives You Lemons, MAKE LEMONADE!!! Our table will be set up through Asbury circle where the runners will run through and we'll support by cheering and providing cold lemonade. The Winship Win the Fight 5K Run/Walk is a family-friendly event held on the Emory University campus and benefitting cancer research at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. In 2018, the eighth annual event raised more than $790,000 with over 3,200 participants. To date, the event has raised over $4.9 million in support of cancer research at Winship Cancer Institute. On the day of the event, runners and walkers tackle the Peachtree Road Race qualifying course that starts and ends on the Emory campus and winds its way through the surrounding Druid Hills-area. Event & Parking Details Date: Saturday, October 5th Arrival time: 7:15 am Address: 29 Eagle Row Atlanta, Ga 30322 Cheer Team Location Details - A cheer team sign will be on display at your designated location, on the medium that intersects Frat Row and Ashbury Circle (see attachments) - A shuttle bus that has the “VOLUNTEERS” sign will depart from Dowman Drive at front of the QUADRANGLE at 7:30 am. The shuttle will make its way around to drop volunteers off, for your convenience, your team make ride it to their cheer station. Special Reminders (Please review w/ cheer team members) · Please arrive promptly with consideration to certain streets closing due to the race. They start closing down streets around 30-45 minutes prior to race (approximately at 7:45 am). Anyone parked at the Michael Street Deck/Rollins Way will have to walk, anyone parked at the Peavine Deck cannot leave early and will have to wait until the end of the race. · All Winship 5K volunteers park at Peavine Deck with the exception of some that may park at Michael Street Deck/Rollins Way. Anyone that needs assistance may be escorted via golf cart but anyone parked at this deck cannot leave early and will have to wait until the end of the race. · A shuttle bus that has the “VOLUNTEERS” sign will depart from Dowman Drive at front of Admin building at 7:15 am and 7:30 am. It will make its way around in the opposite direction of the race route to drop volunteers off · Cheer Stations are encouraged to come up with themes and dress accordingly with poster signs and i.e. pom-poms, whistles, etc · Cheer Stations may also bring portable lawn chairs · Cheer station volunteers will not receive a volunteer race t-shirt · Please refrain from promoting any businesses or organizations i.e. flyer handouts, brochures, etc · Portapotties are located near the start of the race on Ashbury Circle · If a race participant needs to go to the ER, we have EMS onsite. DO NOT allow them race participants to escort themselves!
