Entrepreneurship is an essential part of our economy; 85% of new jobs are created by startups. And universities are leading the way. Notable trends have included the expansion of entrepreneurship education across campuses. More recently, universities have made substantial investments to build new infrastructure to enhance entrepreneurship and innovation activities. The Co-Lab, located in Alden Library, opened in 2018 with the mission to enable and empower students to live and grow through creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. In his Café Conversation, “Spaces for Entrepreneurship Education: A New Campus Arms Race?”, at 5 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 23th, in the CoLab , 3rd Floor Alden Library, Pittaway, O’Bleness Professor of Management Systems, will discuss entrepreneurship education and infrastructure. During the café he will review case studies and consider the critical parameters that enable creativity and innovation in these university entrepreneurial education spaces. The series provides a venue for students to informally share their interests during a conversational exchange with faculty presenters, staff and the Athens community.
