My Furry Valentine is a Super Animal Adoption event that gathers hundreds of adoptable puppies, dogs, kittens, cats and small pocket pets from dozens of local rescues and shelters. Our main event in West Chester, Ohio at flexi USA hosts more than 500 animals under one roof. We're made some improvements to the your volunteer experience and will be assigning times and tasks BEFORE the event, so we can all be better prepared! Like last year, we’re also asking that all of our volunteers commit to the following: Be Open & Willing to Work Any Task. Even though the goal of our event is to help animals in need, most volunteer tasks to not involve working with animals directly. The rescues and shelters who attend our event are responsible for their care during the event. While we will do our best to accommodate your requests and skills, we ask that our volunteers be open and willing to work any assignment which may or may not include poop duty. :) Purchase an Event T-shirt. We’re asking our volunteers to purchase their Event Staff T-shirt for $7.50 when they complete the Registration Form. All volunteers will receive free pizza, beverages, snacks and a free flexi retractable leash! Attend Volunteer Orientation. Our Volunteer Orientation will be held on Thursday, February 13th at 6:30PM at our event location (flexi USA in West Chester.) At this meeting we will review volunteer assignments, distribute t-shirts and answer any questions you may have. We’ll be setting up for the event that night and you’re welcome to stick around and help out with effort. It may be a long night, but we keep it fun and we look forward to having you all! All volunteers aged 13-18 must be accompanied by an adult volunteer.
