Heritage Festival

Date: Sep 19, 2015 at 9:45am to 12:30pm
All volunteers are encouraged to stop at the "Volunteer Check In Station" that will be in front of the Boone County Historical Society Museum where the shuttle drops off. You will get additional instruction from this station. Where to go and who to report to: Those assigned to the children's area will be working in the area marked "Fun for Yung 'Uns Area" located just west of the bathroom and east of the Maplewood Barn stage. You will be working with Cassie Dins or another Parks & Recreation staff member. A staff member or the volunteer you are replacing will show you the activity so you can work with the kids and families who are visiting the festival. What to wear: Please dress comfortably and appropriately to interact with the public. Please dress comfortably, wear a hat, sunscreen and bring water. Be prepared for rain. For parking: We are asking volunteers to park at the Gans Nature Area. Please take Discovery Parkway exit off HWY 63 South and turn west. Follow the signs to the Gans parking lots on the left just past Tolton High School (that is on the right). Park and ride the shuttle. It will drop you off right in front of the museum. There will be a volunteer check in table where you will find your name on a check in sheet or there will be someone at the table to direct you. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your shift to allow for traffic, parking and shuttle.
